Gazeley Bike Ride 2019
September 25, 2019
A huge congratulations to all those who participated in Gazeley’s second charity bike ride, ‘Tour19’. We are delighted to announce that with the help of everyone who participated, we raised a total of £10,300 for Dementia UK. Every penny of the £50 entry fee paid is donated!
This year’s ride was held at our very own Magna Park, Lutterworth, with the well-planned and exciting new routes which saw riders looping around the breath-taking scenic countryside and market towns around Leicestershire. Offering the three route options of 30 miles, 60 miles and 100 miles saw riders of all abilities to take part.
Whilst we were very lucky with the weather, we did see a few showers throughout the morning, so ‘hats off’ to the riders who braved the weather to take part!
Catering on the day was supplied by our very own ‘bee man’ Cardona and Son http://www.gazeleyhoney.com/ who used our Gazeley honey which has been produced by the bees at the G-Hive at Magna Park, Milton Keynes. An incredible menu consisting of 12-hour oak-smoked beef brisket served in a brioche roll with pickles, 12-hour oak-smoked pulled pork served in a brioche roll with homemade ‘slaw, handmade Beetroot and Quinoa burgers served in a brioche roll with homemade ‘slaw , marinated vegan skewers served with pita bread, and sides of: homemade ‘slaw, green salad, and skinny fries. All served with Gazeley honey BBQ sauce!
We would like to say a very big thank you to our sponsors Savills, Chetwoods and Lysander and Osbourne Clarke, especially to those who volunteered to help with the event! Thank you to Freestone Creative who designed the beautiful cycling jerseys.
We would also like to say a big thank you to the events company Zeus events, who made this whole event possible and the success it was. We are thrilled to be able to work with such a highly professional and incredible team. Thank you!
We are delighted to be raising funds for our chosen charity, Dementia UK, which saw 100% of the entry fee will go directly to the charity. With your support, it means Dementia UK can provide specialist Admiral Nurses to families affected by dementia. Admiral Nurses work alongside families to give them the one-to-one support, expert guidance and practical solutions they need to face dementia with more confidence and less fear.
We are looking forward to next year’s ride already!
